The BeHPR vzw-asbl was founded in March 2013.
BeHPR is an initiative of the KBVR and various healthcare professionals.
The board members are therefore health professionals from various disciplines: occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists, podiatrists and nurses.

The BeHPR vzw-asbl has formulated the following objectives:

- Enabling structural consultation and cooperation between the various non-medical care providers (health professionals) within rheumatology, with the ultimate goal of providing high-quality and patient-oriented care to people with a rheumatic disease.

- Organization of specialized training and further education in rheumatology.
- Striving for an optimization of care through interdisciplinary cooperation within rheumatology, such as scientific research and awareness campaigns.
- Making structural consultation and cooperation possible with the KBVR-SRBR vzw-asbl and other stakeholders, in particular in the field of training, further education, conferences and important initiatives.
- Making structural consultation and cooperation possible with the representative patient organizations within rheumatology.
- Enabling structural consultation and collaboration with the EULAR Health Professionals in Rheumatology.
